Two pieces of work from the NASA Kennedy Space Center research on crops grown in orbit, both of which Payton Barnwell is an author of.

M.A. Mickens, E.J. Skoog, L.E. Reese, P.L. Barnwell, L.E. Spencer, G.D. Massa, R.M. Wheeler (2018). A strategic approach for investigating light recipes for ‘Outredgeous’ red romaine lettuce using white and monochromatic LEDs. Life Sciences in Space Research, 19, 53–62.

Which combinations of LED wavelength grow the most nutritious leaf. The crop is the one the Veggie team grows aboard the International Space Station, so the light recipe is a food supply question, not a horticultural one.

P.L. Barnwell (2017). Effects of White LEDs on Growth and Phytonutrients of Outredgeous Romaine Lettuce When Supplemented with Various Monochromatic Wavelengths. NASA Kennedy Space Center. NTRS Document ID 20170010694.

Her own report from the Kennedy Space Center internship, and the work the journal paper above came out of.
